Answer 1.2:    HearSource provides other services other than new hearing aids.  HearSource operates one of the largest independently owned repair labs in the country.  The hearing aid repair lab has the resources available to repair any make, model, or brands of hearing aids.  HearSource also offers accessories for purchase such as; hearing aid batteries, hearing aid parts, and hearing aid cleaning supplies. Answer 2.1:    Digital Hearing aids made by HearSource are a new type called, "Personal Programmable Hearing Aids". HearSource provides all the hearing aid programming equipment to allow the user to make modifications to the the sound to fit their own personal needs.  This approach to fitting hearing aids is very different from the traditional way of going to someone locally for sound adjustments.  This shift is primarily due to the fact that most people own computers, and the hearing impaired market is changing towards a  younger audience accustomed to utilizing technology such as the "baby boomers".

Answer 2.2:    Hearing Aids at their most basic level are nothing more than a "Personal Amplified System" or "PA System". Components common to all amplified systems are also found within a hearing aid.  First, hearing aids have microphones that convert analog sound into an electrical signal.  Secondly, most hearing aids are now, "digital" meaning when the sound is introduced from the microphone into the, "DSP" or "Digital Signal Processor" the electrical signal is encoded with numbers. Once the sounds is digitized within the hearing aid, computers then can modify the signal for the user by the use of HearSource's hearing aid programming equipment. Third, when the signal is modified according to a persons hearing loss it's then passed through an amplifier which increase the signals gain for more amplification.  Using amplification is the essential ingredient to overcome a hearing loss.  When the signal passes through the amplifier it's then converted back into an analog signal, and transferred into a receiver. The receiver is essentially a speaker that creates the audible analog sound wave that gets put into the ear canal. The end result should be taking soft sounds that normally wouldn't stimulate a persons hearing, with amplified sounds that allow the user to hear better.  All hearing aids no matter what brand, or style have this in common.

Answer 3.1:    HearSource offers a hearing aid repair service starting at $99.  The sheer volume of repair work that's generated from the online repair service allows HearSource to be very competitively priced over local hearing aid dealer options.  If you've been told either your hearing aid cannot be fixed or the price is extraordinary high for fixing the hearing aid please consider our online hearing aid repair service.  Charging high prices for hearing aid repairs is a common sales tactic used within the hearing industry.  This discourages people from making the investment in repairing older hearing technology and encourages them to put their money into the purchase of new hearing aid technology.

Answer 4.1:    Most of the time hearing loss begins gradually, without discomfort or pain. What's more, family members often learn to adapt to it, without even realizing they are doing it.
Here are some questions to ask yourself to determine whether hearing loss is present:
    1. Do I often ask people to repeat themselves?
    2. Do I have trouble following conversations with more than two people?
    3. Do I have difficulty hearing what is said unless I'm facing the speaker?
    4. Does it sounds like other people are mumbling or slurring their words?
    5. Do I struggle to hear in crowded places like restaurants, malls and meeting rooms?
    6. Do I have a hard time hearing women or children?
    7. Do I prefer the TV or radio volume louder than others?
    8. Do I experience ringing or buzzing in my ears?

If you answer "YES" to any of these questions above it would beneficial to seek the advise of a hearing professional for a full assessment your hearing loss.

Answer 4.2:     Only about 13% of physicians routinely screen for hearing loss. Since most people with hearing impairments hear just fine in quiet environments (like your doctor's office), it can be very difficult for your physician to recognize this problem. Only a trained hearing professional can determine the severity of your hearing problem, whether or not you could benefit from a hearing aid, and which type would be best for you.  Most often the people who notice hearing loss are the people you communicate with most often.

Answer 4.4:     Hearing loss can occur at any time, at any age. In fact, most people with hearing loss (65%) are younger than age 65! There are six million people in the U.S. ages 18-44 with hearing loss, and around one-and-a-half million are school age.  Hearing loss is third highest ailment that people suffer from.  This makes hearing loss even more common then eye sight impairment.  As time moves forward the trend is that more and more people will notice their hearing loss sooner than later.  This is taking in consideration that people are exposing themselves to louder sounds with music and communication devices.
